Talking Indiana Twisters on Good Seats Still Available

Tim Hanlon, whose (fairly) new podcast is called Good Seats Still Available, recently had me on as a guest to talk about the two-year run of the Indiana (neé Indianapolis) Twisters of the old Continental Indoor Soccer League. It was great fun and I hope if you’re an aficionado of defunct and alternative leagues and teams, you’ll give it (and the series) a listen. Click here to listen to the episode I was on and click here to choose other episodes to listen to.

If you remember the Twisters and made your way here thanks to Tim’s podcast, you can listen to digital recordings of all the original radio broadcasts that have survived these last 20 years (including the first and last games in team history) and check out a (still incomplete) timeline of the Twisters’ short history. (That’s me, above right, with the final three Twisters who were still playing in 2007, 10 years after the team’s demise – Carlos “Chile” Farias, Droo Callahan and Mariano Bollella. At last report, Chile was still kicking around somewhere in the MASL.)

Finally, if you’re so inclined, there’s a Facebook group for Twisters alumni and friends, so you can click here to go to that and join if you like.

Thanks to Tim for having me on. Maybe we’ll do it again soon.

  1. Kenn, thanks for sharing. I remember the Twisters in another color at Reunion Arena…faint memories but I don’t especially remember that purple combo I see you holding. I would have caught both years of their existence at Reunion, but again…been a long while.
