We live in the middle of the biggest desert in North America, but it’s been raining points in Arizona high school football lately. After a combined 93 points in last week’s Liberty-Sunrise Mountain game, the Mustangs and Peoria Panthers racked up 89 more in this game, which Greg Dillard and I called on IBNSports. com on Sept. 30, 2011.
Check out the highlights below. including the 61-yard field goal by Sunrise Mountain’s Ryan Hawkins with 11 seconds left.
Hawkins’ field goal is just short of the Arizona state record held by Mountain Ridge’s Jeff Locke (63 in 2007), but it does make the list of the longest kicks of all time in American football.
BTW, if you want to see the whole game, rock on, it’s here.
