I couldn’t have asked for a better game or a better partner to kick off my schedule of high school football broadcasts for IBNSports.com. In a game that, because of some miscommunication, actually ended up being streamed through USA Today’s website, Liberty High beat Sunrise Mountain, 24-23.
This is the first time I’ve called a regular schedule of high school football since I was a senior in college in 1986. (You can see one of those games here.) If they’re all like this one, it’ll be a fun season.
Nick Licalzi (above, looking quizzical) is normally a hockey broadcaster, but he did yeoman’s work as my analyst on this exciting season opener, highlights of which you can see below.
